プリークネスステークス（Preakness Stakes）とはアメリカの三冠の第2冠として、メリーランド州ボルティモアにあるピムリコ競馬場のダート1マイル3/16（9ハロン1/2・約1911メートル）で行われる競馬の競走である。
例年ケンタッキーダービーの2週間後に行われる。
また出走条件は3歳限定だが、ケンタッキーダービーやベルモントステークスと同様に騸（せん）馬の出走も可能である。
1870年にピムリコ競馬場がオープンされた時に行われたディナーパーティステークス（現・ディキシーハンディキャップ）の優勝馬・プリークネスからこの競走名が付けられた。
競走の前にメリーランド・マイ・メリーランドを観客全員で歌うのが習慣となっている。
優勝馬にはブラックアイドスーザンのレイが掛けられる。
歴史
1873年創設（当初は距離1マイル1/2で行われた）。
1889年にメリーランドジョッキークラブのギャロップ競走の中止により1890年はモーリスパーク競馬場で1894年から1908年まではグレーヴセンド競馬場（ともにニューヨーク州）で開催され、1948年にその期間内の競走がプリークネスステークスとして公式に登録される。その期間内の競走は「失われたプリークネス」と言われている。
1918年は分割レースで施行。
